The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Custodian I to join our teamThe YMCA focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.As aCustodian I, you will create and maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary facility for all members to enjoy. If hired for this position, you will follow all instructions on equipment use, chemicals, and scheduling to facilitate enjoyment at the YMCA for all members and staff alike.Key Responsibilities:Interior cleaning including, but not limited to, vacuuming carpets, cleaning windows, cleaning spills, sweeping or mopping floors, removing scuff marks from walls and floors, cleaning bathrooms and locker rooms, gum removal, dusting, odor control, and trash removal.Replace soap, towels, and other supplies.Assist other departments and branches as needed for ongoing or special events.Record and report all needed repairs and additional cleaning needs on assignment list. Report to supervisor conditions that require an immediate response. Repair and clean as directed.Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.Operate all equipment in a safe and proper manner.Use proper techniques and procedures, and maintain a clean work area to ensure safe working practices and environment.Are you a good fit?
