Career Transitions is supporting a global leader in the manufacture of plastic components who has a need to hire a Maintenance Engineering Manager for their team. This position manages the maintenance and continuous improvement of all plant equipment and facilities, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and safety. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong mechanical or chemical engineering background to lead a multidisciplinary team in providing reliable, high-quality maintenance and engineering support.
Maintenance Engineering Manager Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
- Establish and implement training programs for staff development and skill enhancement.
- Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability.
Maintenance Operations:
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Oversee daily maintenance activities to ensure timely and effective resolution of equipment issues.
- Manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Engineering Projects:
- Lead engineering projects from conception to completion, including new equipment installations, process improvements, and facility upgrades.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to optimize processes and equipment performance.
Maintenance Engineering Manager Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 7 years of experience in maintenance and engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and facilities management.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Leadership Skills:Excellent leadership, team building, and project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
