This position is full time rotating shift. Monday through Friday 6:30am to 2:30pm and required call. Candidate must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for call purposes.
Sentara RMH Medical Center is a 238-bed, Magnet designated hospital located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Harrisonburg is located about two-hours from Washington, DC, three and one-half hours from Virginia Beach and is within a convenient distance to Baltimore, Pittsburgh, NYC, and Philadelphia.
Department Overview:
We are made up of two operating rooms and one hybrid OR. Nurse will work with a multi-disciplinary team of Cardio-thoracic Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists, and Physician Assistants.
The cardiovascular operating room nurse works as part of the surgical services and operating room teams that treat open-heart (cardiovascular) patients. Prepares OR Room, ensures equipment and medications are available for the operating room team. Reviews patient’s chart. Assesses patient upon admission and through procedure Prep and positions patient in OR Administers medication, monitor vital signs during procedure. Document’s information. Provides a call report to the ICU floor nurse after the surgical procedure. Prepares OR for the next case.
Education: Diploma RN, associate degree RN, bachelor’s degree RN, or master’s degree RN.
All Direct Care RNs required to have BLS within 90 days of hire. ACLS within one year.
