Description:
Join our team as a Material Handler, a full-time production role equivalent to a Rigger classification. In this role, you'll begin with a compulsory Training Period, setting you up for success in our fast-paced environment. After completing training, you'll be assigned to a production shift and may be required to work overtime.
Essential Functions/Tasks:As a Material Handler, you'll be essential to our production process. Your tasks will vary depending on your shift, production requirements, and supervisor instructions, including:
- Operate Overhead Crane Systems: Handle steel beams, plates, and assemblies safely and efficiently.
- Manage Steel and Equipment: Move and position small pieces of steel and shop equipment weighing between 10 to 50 pounds.
- Assist with Steel Preparation: Help with cleaning and painting steel, handling paint and solvents.
- Drive Forklifts and Tractors: Use forklifts and tractors to move materials around the shop floor.
- Load and Unload: Efficiently load and unload trucks and rail cars using the appropriate equipment and systems.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Perform yard and building cleaning tasks, contributing to the overall maintenance of our facilities and equipment.
You'll need adequate strength, mobility, dexterity, vision, hearing, and stamina to perform these tasks with minimal assistance.
Other Qualifications:- Education: A high school education is preferred.
- Independence: Ability to follow instructions well and work without constant supervision.
- Team Player: Willingness to collaborate and contribute to a positive work environment.
