Their responsibilities revolve around performing research and analysis, utilizing feedback from customers and other experts, producing prototypes or samples, and coordinating with engineers and technicians. Furthermore, a fire sprinkler designer may design upgrades and enhancements, create testing structures, take part in installing and repairing systems, and conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure the fire sprinkler systems' quality and efficiency.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Distributes and tracks projects requiring design work for construction, other day work projects, and is the liaison between engineering/design department and estimating and installation personnel.Interacts with vendors and customers on engineering design issues. Must be able to work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns, and provide project status.Perform tasks repetitive in nature such as stock listing projects for material ordering and in-house/out of house fabrication.Follow all OSHA standards and laws.Attend regular development meetings.Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs.Make revisions to models as requested.Run simulations and stress-tests on all 3D models before prototyping.Keep up to date on all modern advancements in material and software technologies.Pursue ongoing education in the field.Utilize large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling.Design of plumbing drawings, as-built drawings, site water supplies design and testing.Re-create new (MEP) and structural drawings under existing conditions for design coordination.Read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.Provide accurate electrical schematics per client conditions and analyze and track technical specifications including dimensions, arrangements, and installation procedures.Analyze and verify all hydraulic calculations to ensure adequate water delivery in the event of a fire condition emergency.Ensures that less experienced designers are trained so that design studies, tolerance stacks -ups, layouts, drawings, calculations, supporting documentation, etc., are properly completed on 2-D/3-D CAD, AutoSPRINK , or other computer applications.Perform other duties assigned by management.Education/Qualification:Minimum 2-year degree in related field (preferred) .B achelor's or NICET II (preferred) .E xperience utilizing CAD software (preferred).Minimum 2 years working in a professional environment.Strong organizational skills .Excellent attention to detail .An abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the end.Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner.Other Duties:Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.Performs other duties as assigned.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.Benefits and Perks:Excellent payMedical, dental, visionCompany paid life insuranceCompany paid short term disability401K with employer matchPaid vacation and company holidaysCompany vehicle (if job applicable)Pye Barker Fire and Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer
