All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.DescriptionPosition SummaryUnder the direction of the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping Trainee's main task is to:Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Be ready and willing to receive standard trainingMust work in his/her designated area under direct Supervision of an A, B, or C Operator at all timesLearn basic product identificationProper operation of tools to perform the role of a shipping clerk - examples include: Forklifts, Crimping tools, stretch wrap machines, tygard rollers, etc...Assist higher classed operators with the preparation of their ordersPerform plant cleanup standards tasks during and at the end of an operation or work dayExhibits and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviorsKnowledge and Skills: High School Graduate or GED desired but not required.Work Experience: No experience required.Skills and Competencies: Have general knowledge of plant safety rulesMust be able to read and comprehend MSDSKnowledge of our quality policy and objectivesPhysical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.The team member is occasionally required to sit.The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds and occasionally move or manipulate drums weighing between 200-400 pounds.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
