The Coder will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, charge entry, review of charges from EHR, and reconciling untracked encounters.

Neighborhood is the largest and longest serving Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Western New York. Together, we provide high quality care to diverse individuals and families, regardless of ability to pay.

Responsibilities:
Charge entry as directed.
Review of charges from EHR interface for appropriate coding in a timely manner.
Selects appropriate codes for visits based on documentation
Provide coding updates and training to providers and staff.
Reconciles untracked encounters.
Resolution of denied and pending claims.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
CPC Certificate required. Must be AAPC or AHIMA certified
Allscripts PM and EHR knowledge preferred but not required
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. A second language of Spanish preferred.
Willing to cooperate and be flexible when working with patients, co-workers and management to complete a job.
Strong attention to detail
Excellent in accuracy
Commitment to the adherence of standard operating procedures and policies of Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) as well as federal, state and local regulations.
Strong ability to diplomatically and effectively manage interactions with individuals at all levels and job functions, both inside and outside the organization
Be available to work Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5pm (schedule discussed with supervisor)

Hourly rate: $20.00- $23.00 per hour ( based on a full-time, 40 hour work week)

Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications and other position related components.
