Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role will play a key part in strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Lead the budgeting process, including developing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
    • Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management.
  3. Internal Controls:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies.
    • Ensure the integrity and reliability of financial information.
  4. Audit and Compliance:

    • Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax filings.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  5. Team Leadership:

    • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
    • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  6. Cash Management:

    • Oversee cash flow management, including monitoring cash balances and forecasting cash needs.
    • Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
  7. Strategic Planning:

    • Support executive management in strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Provide financial analysis and insights to drive business growth and efficiency.
  8. System Improvements:

    • Evaluate and implement accounting systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Ensure the accounting team is effectively utilizing technology.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite (experience with ERP systems preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
