Job specification

* Lead and manage the nursing team within the Same Day Surgery unit, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
* Oversee patient care activities, ensuring a smooth workflow and compliance with best practices, focusing on pre-operative and post-operative care.
* Ensure the efficient operation of the Same Day Surgery unit, managing resources, equipment, and inventory while optimizing care delivery.
* Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and enhance surgical outcomes.
* Implement and monitor policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and quality standards, while promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Candidate requirements

* A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required
* Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a surgical or perioperative setting.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
* Recent working on the floor in an Ambulatory Care setting. ( 1 year or less)
* Proficient with starting IVs
* Detailed years of outpatient surgery experience
* Charge nurse, manager, or supervisor over the ambulatory services min. of 1 year.
