The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees across multiple locations.
Job Summary:
The Payroll Manager will oversee all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and employee benefits. The Payroll Manager will work closely with HR, finance, and operational teams to maintain accurate records and improve payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
-Train management teams on timekeeping compliance and policies
- Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, tax withholdings, and benefits deductions.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll for all locations, including hourly and salaried employees.
- Prepare and submit all payroll-related reports, including tax filings, quarterly and year-end reports, and benefit reconciliations.
- Collaborate with HR to manage terminations, offboarding, including payroll-related documentation and final pay calculations.
- Stay current on payroll regulations and best practices, implementing changes as necessary to maintain compliance.
- Address payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner, providing excellent customer service to employees.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll and ensure necessary documentation is readily available.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide training and support to staff on payroll-related matters and software systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll management or a similar role, must have multi-state environment experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems (experience with ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Excellent understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPP or FPC) is a plus.
