The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Director of Public Relations & Communications to join our talented team

The Director will be responsible for the development and execution of an annual strategic and integrated marketing plan, comprised of public relations, social media, and marketing communications activities. The role supports the hotel/resort’s business objectives to drive revenue for the Rooms Division, Food and Beverage outlets, and Spa.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  1. Develop and execute an annual PR strategy in support of the hotel marketing plan.
  2. Create innovative publicity programs that will increase awareness and positive perception of the hotel.
  3. Maximize opportunities for publicity through careful research and targeted editorial pitch plan.
  4. Lead crisis communications in support of the hotel senior management team.
  5. Maintain website content and updates to generate additional revenue.
  6. Manage the hotel’s social media and digital efforts.
  7. Comply with Four Seasons brand standards for marketing communications.
  8. Ensure all marketing materials reflect the highest level of professionalism.
  9. Proofread all marketing material.
  10. Perform other tasks or projects as assigned.
  11. Play a key role in reputation management.
  12. Act as a direct supervisor to the PR & Communications support team.
  13. Oversee the Hotel’s community relations and CSR initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  1. A minimum of five to seven years of experience in public relations.
  2. A university degree in journalism or communications or equivalent experience.
  3. Strong and effective interpersonal skills.
  4. Proven relationships with media, community, and business contacts.
  5. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  6. A self-starter that can multi-task and prioritize.
  7. Proficiency in leveraging social media networks.
  8. The ability to create newsworthy events and develop story ideas.
