Assure the provision of high quality and safe care to the patients and families served. This position is expected to be 50% of an individual’s role with the other 50% made up of clinical duties.
The Opportunity:Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW) Hospital announces an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced physician leader to serve as the next Chief Medical Officer (CMO). As part of the Arkansas Children’s System, ACNW is experiencing an exciting inflection point. ACNW opened in early 2018 and has recently embarked on an expansion, which will significantly augment both inpatient and operating room capacity. In concert, patient volumes and acuity are both increasing, positioning the next CMO to play a pivotal role in advancing quality, safety, care delivery and operational excellence to optimize current and future capabilities.

The CMO is responsible for overseeing and advancing care delivery capabilities. In collaboration with other leaders, the CMO focuses on understanding, addressing, and improving operational processes, to improve quality and safety, but also make it easier to deliver care while simultaneously improving access, throughput, and provider/patient experience. Given the rapid growth of ACNW, the next CMO will have a high degree of business acumen, strong operational and process improvement skills, and significant quality and safety experience. The incoming CMO will be expected to practice clinically in addition to their administrative role. The volume of clinical work will depend on specialty but split of time would be approximately 75% administrative and 25% clinical.
