Position Summary:
- Assures provision of optimum quality patient care by serving as assistant to Department Director.
- Serves as reference and resource person for staff, patient and family.
- Coordinates patient care with other departments.
- Assumes responsibility for units' activities and evaluating the effectiveness of staff and unit performance.
- Plans for meeting the needs of the patient, staff, physicians, and hospital.
- Performs management duties for units under their supervision.
- Assesses unit, patient and staff.
- Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process.
- Demonstrates professional and personal development.
- Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of patient served.
Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days
Licenses: Current RN Licensure through WV Board of Nursing
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of 1 year nursing experience. Relief charge experience preferred.
