Who we’re looking for:

The TFS Enterprise Platforms team is seeking a highly motivated person to fill an opening as a Sr. Manager Software Engineering - Real Time Platforms , to help our growing Enterprise platform needs.

The Sr. Manager Software Engineering is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all technology-related initiatives within the assigned Enterprise platforms and frameworks factory. This role entails developing and executing the factory’s technology strategy to ensure alignment with overarching business objectives. The Sr. Manager must leverage their technical expertise to drive innovation and deliver impactful business outcomes. Additionally, they should possess strong influencing skills to shape strategy and forge partnerships both internally and externally.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Develop and implement the domain’s technology strategy including transformational roadmaps.
  2. Participate actively in project planning and prioritization sessions to ensure initiatives align with business goals.
  3. Own delivery excellence (high quality standards, code and applications, functional, responsive).
  4. Ensure development quality and testing to enable effective and efficient transition of solutions from development to production within the organization’s existing cloud ecosystem.
  5. Manage and enforce enterprise architecture standards.
  6. Ensure adherence to TFS’ COBIT based risk and control framework and enterprise standards.
  7. Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
  8. Staff, mentor, and grow technical talent (people management).
  9. Provide regular reports to senior executives on the status of the domain, including domain performance and incident management.
  10. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and tools and integrate this knowledge to improve methodologies and solutions.

What you bring:

  1. Deep expertise as a software engineering frameworks leader with experience in designing and implementing modern, cloud native business technology solutions.
  2. Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, advanced software design patterns & architecture, operations and software engineering.
  3. Solid technical foundation with relevant experience in Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, REST API, Real time streaming architectures, microservices architecture patterns.
  4. Proven track record of delivering and operating scalable cloud native infrastructure and platform solutions to support APIs and real time needs.
  5. Strong communication skills with the ability to move seamlessly between conversing with engineers or frontline ops employees and leading presentations with non-technical stakeholders.
  6. A passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code.
  7. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional work experience.
  8. Proven years of experience in developing scalable web applications and architectural standards.
  9. Experience leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of software engineers, providing guidance, support, and feedback to foster their professional growth and development.
  10. Demonstrated years of experience with cloud technologies.

Added bonus if you have:

  1. Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering.
  2. 5+ years of experience with creating and operating API and/or real-time platforms and services at enterprise scale.
  3. 5+ years’ experience with Amazon Web Services.
  4. 2+ years of experience with distributed database systems (Cassandra, ElasticSearch).
  5. Experience with deploying GraphQL infrastructure.
  6. Experience with managing Kafka infrastructure.
  7. Experience with managing enterprise grade infrastructure for API platforms like Apigee, Mulesoft, etc.
