Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living and Memory Care , a Brightwater community, is seeking a Health Services Director for the overall management of the Health Services Department for the Community. This role includes addressing health services issues of residents, orientation, education, and training for new health services staff, scheduling health services staff, and assisting with specific components of medication room operations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

All responsibilities are to be performed within the scope of practice per state regulations.

  • Maintain resident, employee, and community information in strict confidence.
  • Assure a stable health services staff of optimal quality and quantity by recruiting, hiring, supervising, evaluating, counseling, and terminating employees as necessary.
  • Assure regular competency evaluations of health services employees are completed.
  • Perform all responsibilities related to delegation of nursing tasks.
  • Educate and train employees through conducting new employee orientation and regular education and training classes.
  • Assure health services employees are educated and trained using appropriate resource guidelines.
  • Develop, schedule, and conduct continuing education and training for health services employees.
  • Assist Executive Director in developing and implementing QA program for in-service training.
  • Complete quality assurance audits.
  • Complete or assist with Nursing Assessments and evaluations of residents addressing their needs.
  • Attend Service Plan Meetings with the Resident Care Managers.
  • Complete monthly work schedule for the Nursing Department.
  • Review, approve and submit timecard information for the Nursing Department.
  • Develop or assist with developing service plans for residents.
  • Schedule and ensure quarterly Pharmacy and Physician meetings.
  • Monitor MAR and ensure medications and treatments are administered as ordered.
  • Monitor alert charting and Shift Change Notes & Communications Log.
  • Complete review of all Resident Incident Reports.
  • Effectively utilize and coordinate services with home health, hospice, and other agencies.
  • Assure compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to health services.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Management Skills, including interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Meet state or provincial health related requirements.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing and healthcare practices.
  • Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Maintain current professional license (RN or LPN/LVN).
