What You'll Do

  • Lead and supervise the daily activities of the assembly department.
  • Train, coach, and develop assemblers to achieve high levels of quality and productivity.
  • Assign work based on production priorities and customer deadlines.
  • Ensure products are assembled accurately according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications.
  • Monitor quality throughout the assembly process and address issues before they reach the customer.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Track production progress and communicate status to management.
  • Assist with hands-on assembly work when needed.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing assembly experience.
  • 2+ years in a lead, supervisor, or team leader role.
  • Experience working in sheet metal fabrication, aerospace, defense, medical device, or other precision manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documentation.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality standards and inspection requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using ERP or manufacturing software to track production.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Electro-mechanical assembly
  • Mechanical assembly
  • Hardware installation
  • Riveting and fastening
  • PEM hardware
  • Precision sheet metal products
  • ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • 5S implementation
