Ruby on Rails Developer

Pay: $550-600/day

\n

Location: Queens, NY; Onsite for first 4-6 months, then hybrid 3/week

\n

Schedule: 7 hr days (35 hrs per week) with 1 hr for lunch

\n

Responsibilities:

\n
  • \n
  • Develop secure, web-centric applications for employees and external stakeholders using a variety of frameworks, especially Ruby on Rails\n
  • Work with the business users to assist in developing application requirements and in writing end-user documentation\n
  • Work in a test-driven development environment using a variety of tools to create automated test scripts to perform unit and regression testing\n
  • Recognize data quality and consistency errors and recommend solutions to resolve them\n
  • Develop close working relationships with team members to enhance everyone's technical capabilities\n
  • Debug and troubleshoot existing distributed-systems applications\n
  • Provide level-two application support for front-line support staff\n

Qualifications:

Required

  • \n
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.\n
  • 5-7+ years of experience\n
  • 5 years of Full Stack Development experience using Ruby/RoR, Java\n
  • 5 years of SQL Query Development experience\n
  • 3- 5 years of Linux Shell Scripting experience\n
  • 3 years of of Git, Jira experience\n
  • Experience with Windows, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, RedHat/CentOS Linux platforms\n
  • Experience developing web-based applications on Linux using Ruby on Rails\n
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience working with various development frameworks\n
  • Understanding of SQL and experience building complex, database-driven web applications\n
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL\n
  • Experience with the integration and transformation of various data types\n
  • Experience utilizing Linux shell scripting techniques such as regular expressions for the manipulation, cleansing, pattern matching and transformation of data\n
  • Ability to produce high-quality documentation\n
