Description

Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Radiology, Mammography, Magnetic Resonance, CT Scanning, Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry and Nuclear Medicine sections of the Diagnostic Imaging Department for Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital to ensure the provision of safe, efficient, cost effective, quality imaging services. Implements departmental goals and objectives. Develops and assures professional standards. Maintains balanced budgets for all department cost centers.

The Radiology Director coordinates the daily operations of all sections through close interaction with subordinates, physicians, nursing personnel, and medical offices. Supervises team goals affecting QA and maintenance of high standards and optimum working conditions.

The Diagnostic Imaging Department provides imaging services for Providence Health System on a 24-hour a day, 7 day per week basis. As a component of Diagnostic Imaging, Radiology, Mammography, Magnetic Resonance, CT Scanning, Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry and Nuclear Medicine services are offered and monitored carefully. The procedures must be coordinated with other departments, physician schedules, technical schedules and equipment availability. Examinations involve the use of a variety of complex radiologic supplies and equipment, and as many as 500 different patient positions. Patients are often in serious physical and emotional condition requiring extra care and sensitivity in conducting the examinations. Many portable examinations are given to non-ambulatory patients and to patients in surgery. Coordination with other departments is essential to professional operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: Oregon Medical Imaging License from Oregon State Board.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Upon hire: National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • 5 years progressively responsible team leadership and/or supervisory experience in a Hospital environment.
  • 5 years experience working as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • 2 years supervisory capacity in a Radiology Department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Radiology.
