Surgical Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Summary:
The surgical services at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our expanding and innovative team. In this position, the APP will work alongside experienced physician and APP colleagues managing a variety of surgical patients, inclusive but not limited to Trauma, Vascular, and Acute Care Surgery, throughout the course of their hospital stay.
Responsibilities:
- Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse trauma and acute care surgical patients.
- PAs and NPs with an RNFA are able to 1st Assist in the Operating Room on open and minimally invasive procedures.
- Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team.
- Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, central line placement/removal, insertion/removal of chest tubes, and arterial lines.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and possess or be eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license. (Nurse Practitioners must have a current and active RNFA)
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in surgery will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
