Job Title: Electrical Engineer


Location(s): White Plains, NY


Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with Project Management to coordinate with the Developers of Generation and Transmission projects to ensure designs and specifications are reviewed so they meet the Authority's technical requirements.
  2. Coordinate with stakeholders, Developers, AE firms for the facility study design and conceptual design for the generator connection that requires transmission facility modification.
  3. Coordinate with client Environmental, Transmission Planning and Transmission Operations, client Site Engineering and client Legal to develop NDAs, facility study agreement, cost-reimbursable agreement.
  4. Support and coordinate with Engineering, Design, Strategic Supply management (SSM), Legal, Environmental, client site owners to draft and execute Interconnection Agreement.
  5. Develop and review responsibility matrix for the facility study and Interconnection agreement.
  6. Prepare project request and coordinate with OPMG to generate project number and WBS codes for cost tracking.
  7. Review Feasibility Study (FES) scope, FES report, System Reliability Impact Study (SRIS) scope and reports.
  8. Knowledge in interpreting results from power flow and transient simulations using PSSE or TARA.
  9. Coordinate with client engineering, design and sites, to provide asset information, drawings, and standards for interconnection to client transmission or generation facility.

Skills:

  1. Experience with NYISO interconnection process, preferred.
  2. Experience with high voltage substation and transmission project development and execution.
  3. Experience with large scale renewable projects, desired.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

Education & Certifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power System at an accredited institution at the time of application.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of high voltage substation and transmission line engineering experience.
  3. Minimum of 3 years in project management.
  4. New York State PE, desired.
