The Apple TV app team is looking for a proactive, hardworking, and experienced senior android engineer to lead the development of fun new features and to help build an application used by millions to watch and discover TV and sports. If you are product driven and you have an interest in TV/Sports, this is an ideal and outstanding opportunity for you. As an engineer on our team, you will design and architect a sophisticated application, interact with other Apple members in cross-platform features, supervise the work of less experienced developers, and build systems to be used by third-party developers. You know development standard methodologies, are comfortable working in large code bases, can create tools and frameworks, and can balance multiple projects. We're a small but effective engineering team. With your strong attention to detail, you’ll be able to collaborate with the design and marketing teams, and find the best solutions to important problems, always having the user in mind. Description

The Apple TV App team is responsible for delivering innovative TV and Sports features and managing the app on iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, visionOS, macOS, Windows, and Android platforms. Apple TV app also integrates with platform features to enrich the experience outside the app. We are seeking an energetic and self-driven software engineer who will play a central role in the development of future iterations of the app and system integrations. You will work with talented engineers in a dynamic, technically demanding environment. Minimum Qualifications

  1. Experience with android application development in Java or Kotlin
  2. Experience developing custom user interfaces with Jetpack Compose or Views and Fragments
  3. Attention to detail and a proven track record of completing projects on time and within specification.
  4. Experience with multithreaded code and asynchronous programming with coroutines
  5. Familiarity with common android application design patterns like MVVM or MVC
  6. Understanding of REST APIs and client-server architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Some familiarity with Javascript
  2. Experience writing testable code and familiarity with unit testing frameworks like JUnit
  3. Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
