Position Title: Certified Nurse Assistant/Classroom Aide
FLSA: Non-Exempt Hourly Full-Time $20.00 per hour

Reports to: Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School diploma or equivalent required
* Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certificate
* CPR and First Aide certification
* Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by AZ DPS
* Para Pro Certificate (can be obtained through our school)
* Experience working with children preferred
* Ability to work with sutdents with diverse needs in a compassionate and patient manner
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
* Ability to learn methods and procedures to effectively help children with their
* learning.
* Basic knowledge of computer programs for documentation and reporting
* Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and
* parents.

JOB GOAL:

To assist the teachers in providing a well-organized and effective
classroom environment where students may take full advantage of the instructional
program.

Work Environment:

* The CNA/Classroom Aide will work primarily in the classroom, special education resource rooms, and occasionally in the school's health office.
* May be exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions in the school setting, following district health and safety protocols.

PERFORMANCE RESONSIBILITIES:

* Support students needs by implementing positive behavior strategies
* Medications schedules, watching for signs of seizures and proper use of medical equipment.
* Safety of Medically fragile children.
* May come in contact with bodily fluids while caring for students.
* Diapering, feeding, potty training, hygiene.
* Full time supervision of students.
* Communication and cooperation with teachers and parents
* Paperwork/documentation as requested by teachers.
* Escorting students to and from the buses.
* Other duties as assigned.
