Our mission is to provide our customers with efficient and reliable metal recycling services while minimizing the environmental impact of our operations. EMR recycles ten million tons of material annually, everything from beverage cans to aircraft carriers. We work with a wide variety of metals including copper, aluminum, brass, and stainless steel and can recycle it into more than 200 different types of new sustainable raw materials.

Are you ready to kickstart your career in the metal recycling industry? EMR USA is looking for a motivated Scrap Metal Manager Trainee to join our team in Mobile, AL. This is an incredible opportunity to learn the business from the ground up and develop the skills needed to become a successful leader in our organization.
What You'll Experience:
As a Scrap Metal Manager Trainee, you'll spend at least a year immersed in all aspects of the metal recycling industry. You'll start by getting hands-on experience in the yard, learning about our operations and processes. You'll also shadow other managers to understand the ins and outs of managing a team and running a successful business. If you're a team player with a strong work ethic and a keen business sense, this is the perfect role for you

Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team, providing guidance and support to ensure a cohesive and productive work environment.
- Safety First: Implement and maintain strict safety protocols to ensure a safe workplace.
- Equipment & Logistics: Oversee equipment maintenance, plan logistics, and ensure efficient material movement.
- Quality & Inventory: Maintain high standards for product quality and manage inventory with precision.
- Cost & Compliance: Optimize costs and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience is also highly valued.
- Skills & Abilities: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with familiarity with safety regulations, equipment maintenance, and logistical planning.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Outdoor Environment: Work in all weather conditions with exposure to noise and moving mechanical parts.
- Physical Activity: Expect to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
