Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Care:
    1. Diagnose and treat hematologic and oncologic conditions, including but not limited to leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, anemia, and solid tumors.
    2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and other advanced treatments.
    3. Manage complications related to cancer treatment, such as neutropenia, infections, and other adverse effects.
    4. Perform bone marrow aspirations, biopsies, and other procedures as necessary.
  2. Collaborative Care:
    1. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and surgeons to ensure integrated patient care.
    2. Participate in tumor boards, case reviews, and treatment planning meetings.
    3. Provide consultation services to other departments and medical staff.
  3. Patient Education & Support:
    1. Educate patients and their families on diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and available supportive services.
    2. Engage in palliative care and pain management strategies when necessary.
    3. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families dealing with cancer diagnoses.
  4. Research & Continuous Education:
    1. Stay current with advances in hematology and oncology by participating in continuing medical education (CME) opportunities, attending conferences, and reading relevant literature.
    2. Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives to advance the field of oncology and hematology, when appropriate.
  5. Administrative & Compliance:
    1. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal, regulatory, and institutional policies.
    2. Follow best practices and protocols in line with national and institutional guidelines.
    3. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
Qualifications:
  1. Education & Licensure:
    1. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
    2. Board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology.
    3. Active and unrestricted medical license in (State).
    4. Fellowship training in Oncology and/or Hematology is required.
  2. Experience:
    1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical hematology/oncology.
    2. Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and treatment of both benign and malignant blood disorders.
    3. Experience with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is a plus.
  3. Skills:
    1. Strong diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.
    2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    3. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team.
    4. Compassionate and patient-focused care approach.
