Overview: Overnight TIG Welder:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated TIG Welder to join our fabrication and construction team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in welding, particularly with Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) processes, and demonstrate a strong understanding of metal fabrication standards. This role involves working on diverse projects that require precision welding, interpretation of technical drawings, and adherence to safety protocols. The successful applicant will contribute to high-quality craftsmanship, ensuring all welds meet industry standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities: Overnight TIG Welder:
- Perform TIG welding on various metal materials, including sheet metal, pipes, and structural components, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and fabrication shop drawings to accurately execute welding tasks.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise dimensions and fit-up.
- Prepare surfaces through plasma cutting, grinding, and cleaning to facilitate optimal weld quality.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to assemble components prior to welding.
- Maintain compliance with American Welding Society (AWS) standards and safety protocols throughout all operations.
- Conduct quality inspections using measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to verify weld integrity.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks involving metal fabrication and mechanical assembly.
- Utilize various welding techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), stick welding, and gas metal arc welding as required.
- Support fabrication shop activities by interpreting technical drawings for pipe threading, plasma cutting, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety procedures are followed diligently.
Skills: Overnight TIG Welder:
- Proven experience on construction sites with a solid understanding of site safety protocols.
- Proficiency in TIG welding along with other methods such as FCAW, MIG welding, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and shop math.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and pipe threading equipment safely.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, pipe assembly, plasma cutting, and mechanical fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of safety standards set by industry organizations such as the American Welding Society (AWS).
- Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to interpret technical specifications accurately.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills essential for assembling complex components accurately.
- Strong teamwork orientation with effective communication skills across diverse project environments.
