Position: Windows Systems Administrator

Onsite in Reno, NV, five days a week (Tuesday through Thursday initially, with potential for full-time onsite).

Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire

Responsibilities/Job Duties/Job Description/Qualifications:

We are seeking a motivated and Systems Analyst to join our team in Reno, NV. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in virtualization, Windows systems, and automation scripting, with a focus on mentoring junior team members and contributing to project-focused tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and support a junior Level 1 Systems Analyst in Reno, providing guidance and knowledge transfer.
  • Perform day-to-day operations, including compliance and security tasks, equipment racking, and cable work.
  • Develop and maintain virtualization environments using VMware.
  • Write and execute automation scripts using Python and PowerShell.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed in all projects and operations.
  • Manage and configure Cisco UCS and Dell servers.
  • Potential travel to other project sites as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience with VMware virtualization.
  • Proficiency in Windows systems administration.
  • Automation scripting skills, particularly in Python with PowerShell being a plus.
  • Knowledge of security practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS and Dell server platforms.
  • Ability to write and develop scripts from scratch.
  • Excellent team player with a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Preferred Skills:

  • SCADA or controls experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools.
