The Geospatial Information Specialist leverages creativity, collaboration, and analytical skills to establish and manage geospatial environments and analyze data. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain GIS web-based mapping platforms.
- Manage Portal/ArcGIS Online accounts and user profiles.
- Create and publish custom maps and web applications using Portal/ArcGIS Online.
- Set up and maintain environments, create layers, and assist with requirements documentation.
- Install new software and configure hardware and software.
- Administer security within the GIS portal, manage existing databases, and design and create new databases.
- Review GIS data for currency and accuracy, document data parameters and context, perform geospatial modeling or spatial analysis, and create geospatial mapping capabilities.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with users to gather geospatial requirements.
- Experience with ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online is essential.
- Experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE services, and the installation/configuration of ArcSDE services.
- Knowledge of GIS theory and practices, principles of enterprise IT systems, geographic concepts (location, scale, resolution, generalization), and system access and security administration for enterprise GIS and related applications.
- Skills/experience with consuming and displaying data in ArcMap from REST endpoints.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Expertise in designing and implementing large (enterprise) geospatial systems.
- Knowledge of SQL and internet programming languages (e.g., HTML5, XML, JavaScript, CSS, Python) as they relate to GIS applications.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming for data management (e.g., Python, ArcObjects), including the ability to create, test, deploy, and validate software packages.
- Ability to identify spatial relationships and display analysis results.
- Experience working with users to gather geospatial requirements.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with users to gather geospatial requirements.
- Experience with ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online is essential.
- Experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE services, and the installation/configuration of ArcSDE services.
