Surgical Technician

Enjoy a top-of-the-line EMR system to simplify care and a comfortable atmosphere to make your impact as a Surgical Technician. Responsibilities include assisting with patient positioning on the procedure table, passing needles and medication to the doctor in a sterile manner, running a Radiofrequency Ablation instrument (training provided, very easy), and assisting the patient off the procedure table and onto a recliner. This position is available every Thursday, 1 day a week for 8 hours, and is for 4 weeks long.


PAY:

$320 - $336/Weekly Gross

$40 - $42 /Hourly

8 hours /Week

MORE ABOUT THE Surgical Technician POSITION:

CareerStaff Unlimited partners with companies around the country to raise the bar in healthcare by setting new standards for quality care and personalized service. Responsibilities for this Surgical Technician opportunity include, but are not limited to:

  1. Performs a variety of duties in an operating room observing proper techniques to include preparing rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment; open sterile supplies and arrange sterile setups for operations.
  2. Assists the surgical teams during operative procedures as instructed to include passing instruments to surgeon or surgical assistants and counting sponges, needles and other supplies used during operations.
  3. Assists circulating nurse in preparing patient for surgery; assists in positioning patient in prescribed manner; assists in moving patient onto wheeled stretcher from delivery to recovery room upon completion of operation.
  4. Maintains records, reports, files, or other information on appropriate forms as required.
  5. Assists in the cleanup of operating theater following surgery to include appropriate disposal of used supplies and sterilization of instruments; monitors and restocks supplies.
  6. Provides direction and guidance in scrub and circulating methods and techniques to students.
  7. Selects and prepares the appropriate supplies and equipment for surgical cases. Operates surgical equipment.
  8. Demonstrates empathy and concern for patient and understanding of treatment.
  9. Attends department/hospital meetings as required and assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
  10. Adheres to location and company policy and procedures as well as establish HIPPA confidentiality standards.
  11. Maintains safe and clean work areas, adheres to established AST standards, and complies with all infection control, universal precautions, and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
  12. Maintains positive relationships and rapport with coworkers, patients, family members and hospital personnel.
  13. Reports to work at time designated by the client hospital.
  14. Projects a positive and professional image at all times. Adheres to client facility’s dress code and performs other tasks or duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Surgical Technician:

  1. Certified with the Liaison Council for Surgical Technician, preferred
  2. Graduate of an approval medically based and/or certified program in Surgical Technology
  3. Current BLS certification
  4. Successful completion of an approved Surgical Technology program
  5. Participate in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to Surgical Technology
