Description

We are looking for an experienced Manager (4-6 years of experience) for our Corporate team. We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic self-starter who is ready to be a part of a dedicated local and national team and is passionate about telling stories for clients across multiple industries. We need someone with strong media chops and a proven track record of crafting story ideas that demonstrate a strong understanding of the media landscape and that meet client program objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a team across multiple offices and will be a clear, concise communicator.

Responsibilities

Client & Team Engagement

  1. Communicate with clients on daily basis
  2. Provide basic client counsel
  3. Serve as a key participant in client meetings and presentations, including developing meeting recaps
  4. Conduct and manage the flow of research and work materials necessary to analyze client issues
  5. Manage client and team resources and deliverables around major campaigns and initiatives

Account Management

  1. Strong time and project management skills and an ability to juggle multiple client needs
  2. Track/enter time with precision and on a daily basis
  3. Assist with account budget and time entry analysis

Media Relations

  1. Develop a strong understanding of the client's business and target audience, and work with strategists and media team members to deliver solutions that meet program objectives
  2. Monitor media outlets, understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client, and analyze and distill meaningful insights from media coverage
  3. Generate story ideas and topic angles, draft media materials, and pitch media to land earned coverage
  4. Develop strategic messaging for clients and support creation of media plans and proposals that take an integrated approach to driving awareness with target audiences
  5. Provide thoughtful, strategic recommendations for executive thought leadership across owned and earned channels
  6. Compose basic earned media plans and contribute to plan development processes
  7. Develop proposals, releases, customer profiles, newsroom blogs, bylined articles, supporting social content and other press materials
  8. Proof and edit client related documents as needed
  9. Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute large scale media programs

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. 4+ years of experience in a communications role (PR agency preferred)
  3. 3+ years of experience in PR/communications role with expertise in writing, plan development, media relations strategy and execution, event management, speaking and awards submissions, social content, measurement, and monitoring
  4. 1-2 years management experience leading small groups and projects
  5. Strong experience with both large-scale and start-up business environments preferred

  1. Computer proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  2. Collaborative work style
  3. Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, work in a team and meet deadlines
  4. Ability to communicate information effectively and accurately, verbally or in writing
  5. A high level of integrity and sensitivity to confidential information
  6. A strong work ethic and an ability to be a self-starter
