Materials/Production Control I (Internal)
Chatsworth, California, United States
Occupational Summary:
The primary responsibility of a Materials/Production Control I is to coordinate the receipt, scheduling and/or flow of product starting from raw materials all the way through to its shipment to the external customer. This includes scheduling, expediting, and interfacing with manufacturing and quality departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform one or more of the following major duties:
Help facilitate management's needs and priorities
Scheduling:
Coordinate with Manufacturing and Quality on R & R and follow up to assure product continues to move through the shop
Perform data collection, including reconciliation of tickets, ensuring ticket numbers are correct; perform correct counts through cycle counting
Expedite product to assure continual flow
Prioritize orders based on needs and urgency
Utilize MAPICS system for parts transactions
Perform order splitting when required
Perform cycle counts as required
Receiving:
Receive raw materials and perform transactions to account for receipt in MAPICS; store properly according to color code system
Issue raw material to manufacturing according to schedule
Receive, sort and deliver received goods to appropriate departments
Perform cycle counts as required
Package and prepare goods for outside processing
Shipping:
Transfer product from Label Room to Finished Goods
Prepare product for shipment using UPS, Fed Ex and other trucking companies
Generate packing slips
Prioritize orders based on needs and urgency
Utilize MAPICS system for parts transactions
Perform cycle counts as required
Familiarity with packing materials and utilization to minimize waste
Proper identification and storage of unshipped product back to Finished Goods
Package, prepare and ship goods for outside processing
myonic:
Maintain myonic USA inventory
Perform cycle counts
Receiving, stocking, and allocation of myonic GmbH, CPE & mps products (heavy lifting)
Stock out shipments, package / repackage / re-label and stage bearings for shipments to customers
Generate shipping paperwork
Maintain & archive quality documents (Certificates of Conformance) from myonic GmbH
Pull and count components per pull sheet or assembly work order. Recalculate balance after pull
Deliver parts to assigned areas
Assist in Ring Stores when needed
Requirements:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Job Skills:
Computer proficiency in Office; especially Word & Excel
Good verbal and written communication skills
IBM AS400 Computer system knowledge preferred
Abilities:
Good organization and documentation skills
Be attentive to details
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction) and maintain an understanding of the decimal system
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
Good interpersonal skills
Customer service experience beneficial (for myonic related responsibilities)
Pay: $19-$25.60 per hour
Shift : 1st
Other Requirements:
Note: Physical job requirements may include standing, use of hands to assemble and or carry out job functions as well as sitting, lifting, carrying, bending and stooping during the course of the job.
Ability to lift minimum of 40 lbs.
