What you will do
The Site EHS Manager is part of BOSK’s newly constructed electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant. This is a performance based, 12-year, O&M contract providing hard services of MEP equipment within the facility, excluding the manufacturing and production equipment. The objective is to maintain a seamless environment by assuring that equipment is performing to specifications to facilitate uninterrupted manufacturing. Job Summary:
The Site EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees at the plant. This role involves conducting safety audits, training staff, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of safety management systems, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety.
How you will do it
Safety Program Development:
Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies and procedures tailored to the plant's operations.
Create programs to promote safety awareness and compliance among employees.
Training and Education:
Conduct safety training sessions for employees at all levels, covering topics such as hazard recognition, safe work practices, and emergency response.
Provide ongoing education and resources to ensure staff stays informed about safety protocols.
Compliance and Audits:
Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards and legislation.
Perform regular safety audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
Incident Management:
Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.
Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety-related data, preparing reports as required.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with management, supervisors, and employees to foster a safety-first culture.
Serve as a key liaison with regulatory agencies and external safety organizations.
Risk Assessment:
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Review and assess safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure adequacy and compliance.
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
Coordinate with local emergency services and government agencies as necessary.
What we look for
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in safety management, preferably in a HVAC, manufacturing or industrial environment.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
