General Function

The Cybersecurity Lead Analyst oversees and manages all cybersecurity operations related to C5ISR systems. This includes ensuring compliance with quality standards, managing risks, responding to incidents, and working closely with military and defense stakeholders to safeguard sensitive systems and data. The role involves leadership in cybersecurity operations, policy implementation, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Cybersecurity OperationsOversee cybersecurity efforts, including risk assessments, vulnerability management, incident response, and threat analysis for C5ISR systems.
  • Develop and Implement Security StrategiesCreate, enforce, and monitor comprehensive security policies and procedures that align with industry standards and government regulations.
  • C5ISR System SecurityEnsure the secure operation of C5ISR platforms, networks, and communication systems, collaborating closely with military and defense personnel.
  • Incident Response ManagementLead efforts to investigate and resolve security breaches, coordinating with cross-functional teams to mitigate threats and reduce downtime.
  • Risk Assessment and ManagementIdentify and manage cybersecurity risks specific to C5ISR systems, developing strategies to protect critical data and infrastructure.
  • Collaboration and CommunicationWork alongside various departments, contractors, and military personnel to ensure integrated cybersecurity measures across all C5ISR systems.
  • Security Audits and ComplianceConduct regular security audits, ensure adherence to DoD regulations, and prepare for external security assessments.
  • Training and MentorshipProvide guidance and training to junior cybersecurity staff, keeping them up to date with the latest defense techniques and technologies.
  • Documentation and ReportingMaintain detailed records of security protocols, incidents, and vulnerabilities. Prepare comprehensive reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Extensive experience with C5ISR systems and their security requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF) and DoD cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Proficiency with vulnerability assessment tools, SIEM platforms, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologies.
  • Understanding of cyber threat intelligence and advanced threat protection techniques.
  • Experience with U.S. government anti-tamper requirements (preferred).
