The Wildbirch Hotel - Group Sales Manager

As Sales Manager at The Wildbirch Hotel, you will drive revenue growth by building strong relationships with new and existing clients. Your expertise in sales strategy and market insight will help position the hotel as a top choice for business, events, and leisure stays. You’ll identify opportunities, create tailored solutions, and ensure the hotel’s offerings meet the unique needs of our guests. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Meet or exceed booking goals for the local corporate, incentive group markets and military/government.
  2. Initiate and follow up on leads.
  3. Coordination of group and transient bookings to maximize profits.
  4. Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program.
  5. Attend the weekly staff meetings.
  6. Assist in the preparation of required reports.
  7. Assist with coordination of all non-group transient sales and catering solicitations to maximize overall profits.
  8. Monitor production of all accounts and evaluate trends within the markets.
  9. Be familiar with all sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy, Average Daily Rate (ADR) and Banquet and Catering revenues.
  10. Conduct site inspection of the hotel with clients and FAMs.
  11. Assist in developing strategies to increase share from competitors.
  12. Meet and greet onsite contacts.
  13. Attend all-employee meetings and any other functions required by management.
  14. Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events.
  15. Create plan that will be used during negative trends in the market place.
  16. Prospect new clients.
  17. Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program.
  18. Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market.
  19. Regularly contact existing accounts.
  20. Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections.
  21. Assist in implementing special promotions.
  22. Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
  23. Assist with social media marketing.
  24. Prepare presentations and proposals.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Prior Experience: 3+ years of employment in a related position with this company or other companies.
  2. IT Expertise: Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office, Outlook) and web analytics tools is preferred.
  3. Education: A four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.
  4. Subject Expertise: Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing, catering, Food & Beverage, and hospitality professions.
  5. This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people, complex problems and efficient sales activities.
  6. Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
  7. Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations.
  8. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for employees as well as guests.
  9. Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to Supervisor.
  10. Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the Associate Handbook.
  11. Must be service oriented with excellent customer service and sales skills.
  12. Must be able to effectively communicate to guests, management, and coworkers and read, write and understand the English language.
  13. Must be energetic and outgoing.
  14. Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  15. Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  16. Must be a team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  17. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  18. Must be able to understand and work with basic financial information and solve basic arithmetic problems.
  19. Must be able to type 45 wpm and have the ability to input data and access information on the computer.
  20. Must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Opera; preferred.
  21. Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Abide by payroll policies, procedures and rules of conduct as stated in the Associate Handbook.
  2. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all company safety and security procedures.
  3. Travel required: As needed for hotel familiarization, content creation shoots and to meet with colleagues.
  4. Hours Required: Must primarily work during business hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, while understanding that the hotel business functions 24/7 and some weekend or holiday work may occasionally be required.
