Staff Geologist, Environmental Consulting
Our corporate office in Gold River, CA is seeking a Staff Geologist to join our consulting firm in the Sacramento area. In this role, you will work closely with project managers on a variety of environmental projects. We are seeking a full-time hire who is detail-oriented and self-motivated. We offer a competitive salary and a benefit package (medical, dental, vision and life insurance), a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan, and paid holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks and project assignments associated with environmental assessments, hydrogeological studies, subsurface investigations and remedial designs, and monitoring projects;
- All manner of field work, including soil and groundwater sample collection and sample preparation for laboratory analysis;
- Project deliverables including the preparation of soil boring logs, well construction diagrams, potentiometric surface maps, geologic cross sections, site sample and plume maps, work plans and reports;
- Working collaboratively with project management and field staff;
- Laboratory and hydrogeologic data management;
- Permit management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering or science-related field.
- 0-3 years of environmental geology experience
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
