About the Role: Our Facilities Services function is looking for a self-motivated and dependable HVAC/Plant Operations Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance for facilities equipment and infrastructure for manufacturing facilities. This equipment includes gas boilers, heat exchangers, chillers, air conditioning equipment, ventilating equipment, air compressors, air handlers, air dryers, emergency power equipment, pumps, valves, filters, purified water systems, and other mechanical and electrical equipment. You will support multiple facilities as required, partnering with many other HVAC/Plant operating associates and working with other facility function associates.

This role will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems
  • Complete repairs, replacements, upgrades, adjustments, and maintenance of facility heating, cooling, air handling, compressed air equipment and systems, either through direct, hands-on labor or using vendor services as business needs and procedures require
  • Monitor, test, treat water for boiler systems, chilled water systems and condenser water systems while maintaining the documentation for each
  • Respond to internal customer needs for environmental control and adjustment
  • Monitor and analyze the operation of building equipment utilizing BMS systems to provide reporting around energy utilization and adjusting as necessary to maintain environmental conditions according to business standards
  • Operate water based heating and cooling systems for maximum efficiency within parameters defined by business needs
  • Respond to facility equipment-related emergencies in accordance with established procedures
  • Maintain records of equipment maintenance and repair activities and schedules
  • Complete and submit reports of maintenance activities performed as required for business documentation
  • Be accountable for project management for mechanical systems improvements and installations, including developing the scope of work, directing design, acquiring bids, and managing contacts and installation
    Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum 5 years of journey-level HVAC experience or 5 years hands-on physical plant operation
    • Proven mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
    • Proven electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
    • Read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
    • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule and be on call as needed
    • Ability to travel 15%

      Desired Qualifications:
      • Training in or experience with digital electronic computer-based building-control systems, including hardware and software manufactured by Alerton, Carrier, and Johnson Controls, or similar highly preferred
      • Experience in a manufacturing clean room environment
      • Training in or skills with computerized maintenance-management systems (CMMS)
