Thomas Childcare and Learning Academy is looking for a Passion Educator who is caring, compassionate, and has experience caring for children ages infant to five years of age. We are committed to providing top quality care and education for students who are enrolled in our program. Our goal is to enhance the lives of every child that attends our facility.


To be successful as a TCLA Teacher, you should be someone with a deep understanding of what it takes to teach students effectively. Top candidates will also be excellent leaders and mentors, able to use their knowledge to raise fellow teachers up, and make lasting improvements to the school's educational processes.


Child Care Teacher Duties and Responsibilities


  • Creating lesson plans, maintaining records on each child’s progress and development and maintaining a safe classroom environment.
  • Responsible for implementing Pre-K, Head Start, NAEYC performance standards, policies and procedures, regulations and guidelines in the day-to-day operations of our early childhood development center.
  • Participate in staff meetings, center activities, and staff development.
  • Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests, and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth
  • Develop a cleaning routine throughout the day that keeps all of the interactive areas sanitary and safe
  • Monitor children during all activities and interact with the children to enhance their learning
  • Maintain a well-organized, safe and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Work with other teachers and assistants to maintain communication with parents and contact parents in emergency situations
  • Help prepare and serve meals and monitor children during lunch time


Qualifications


  • License/Certification: PA Teacher Certification is REQUIRED for this position.
  • CDA Certified is REQUIRED
  • Interpersonal Skills and Working With Children
  • Early Childhood Development knowledge and experience
  • Creativity Skills and Organization Skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons and activities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with fellow educators, families, and children
  • Ability to create and maintain a safe and positive learning environment for children
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is a plus


Job Type:

  • Full-time in person position.
  • Monday - Friday 8 hour shift
