Geotex Construction Services, Inc. an Employee-Owned Company is seeking an experienced estimator to join our team. Geotex is a site development contractor serving Columbus and the surrounding area. We specialize in earthmoving, grading, underground utilities, and demolition for a wide range of projects.

Responsibilities

· Review of project plans, specification and contract documents to establish scope of work and quantity takeoffs to establish total project costs

· Solicit quotes from subcontractors and vendors

· Attend scope meetings related to project

· Preparation of estimates for each phase of the design/build or budget process as well as for negotiated or competitive bids.

· Contribute to value engineering options to customers and owners to establish project value

· Maintain positive relationships with customers

· Collaborate with Project Manager during pre-bid and post-bid process regarding schedule, strategy, and buyout.

· Complete quantity surveys and takeoffs of work

· Prepares and executes estimates for proposed change orders

· Verifies licensing and any additional requirements

Qualifications

· 2+ years’ experience estimating with sitework/ utilities

· Background of technical skills and understanding of excavation methods, contracts, and blueprints

· Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.

· Estimating Software experience or exposure preferred

· Exceptional time management and customer relation skills

· High attention to detail

· Microsoft Office proficiency

· Knowledge of terminology within the work area

. Strong Communication skills

. Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace

. Team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment

. Current/Valid driving record
