Job Summary of the PRN CT Technologist

Under the general direction of the Director of Imaging Services and Manager of Imaging Services, and provides health care services by applying x-ray energy and computer processing techniques to assist in diagnostic or treatment. Performs computed tomography and related procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient’s conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Responsibilities of the PRN CT Technologist
  • Perform computed tomography procedures.
  • Acquire and format all exams in the required setting along with proper clinical history.
  • Plan and direct volume of patients and examinations.
  • Maintain a well-cleaned and supplied department at all times.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Director of Imaging Services or Manager.
  • Qualifications of the PRN CT Technologist

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: Graduate from a school of Radiologic Technology approved by the American Medical Association.
  • Preferred: One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

  • Required: All newly hired employees will need to have the American Registry Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Advanced Registry in Computed Tomography within 90 days of employment. All employees will have current MRT license, and a current Current BLS for Healthcare Providers with American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Preferred: 1 year experience as a CT technologist

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is a 150+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David’s Round Rock. Patients may also receive care related to rehabilitation services, women’s services, cancer care, neurology, joint replacement and orthotics, and more when visiting this facility.
