If so, we would love to connect with you VCA Powder Paws Animal Hospital in Park City, Utah is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our one-of-a-kind 5-doctor small animal practice

Our clinic is getting ready to expand to include more exam rooms. A willingness to take on more responsibilities as we grow and a team-player attitude is a must We are a paperless clinic, currently use Mac computers and preparing to move over to PC and a new veterinary system soon.

The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. We cross train all technicians to work at the reception area to understand the clinic as a whole and support one another. Must be available to work half day Saturdays on a rotating basis.

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors, Technician and CSR team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.Previous room technician work in a clinic, a must

Responsibilities will include:

-Attentive and warm customer service in person, over the phone/text, and via email,

-Management of busy phone lines,

-Scheduling of appointments and surgeries,

-Entering labs and following up with clients,

-Filling prescriptions,

-Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging

-Learning veterinary diets and educating clients about these

-Checking in/out patients for appointments, surgeries, acupuncture and rehab,

-Keeping detailed notes regarding clients and patients,

-Money handling and invoicing,

-Communicating with other industry professionals,

-Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness,

-Assisting with charts and entering charges,

-Handling and restraining dogs and cats for procedures

-Assisting surgery and veterinary technicians with restraining animals,

-Preparing surgical packs, inducing and monitoring anesthesia

-Cleaning instruments and surgical equipment, walking hospitalized animals and cleaning kennels.

Pay - $17.00-$19.00 to start (certified technicians may receive more d.o.e).
