About the Role:

We are seeking a Lab Coordinator to manage and support the operational and functional aspects of our lab facilities. This part-time role is crucial for maintaining the functionality, safety, and efficiency of our lab operations in Santa Fe, New Mexico.


Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Management: Utilize personal skills and coordinate with third-party contractors to ensure all lab equipment is operating effectively, including maintenance, warranty service, and troubleshooting.
  • Lab Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shared spaces of the lab. Manage third-party cleaning company to ensure clean and orderly working conditions within the facility.
  • Waste Management: Manage the disposal of lab chemicals safely and efficiently through third-party contractors.
  • Building Access: coordinate building access control as needed to ensure the safety and security of the lab environment.
  • Front Office: Provide occasional front office support as needed related to lab operations, such as mail and package shipping and receiving tailored to lab needs.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of lab safety requirements and assist in implementing safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management, work with scientists for lab and front office supply needs.
  • Assist with Ad-Hoc projects and other duties to support office and lab operations.


Qualifications:

  • Proven mechanical skills in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, with the ability to coordinate third-party services as needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Experience in a lab environment is a bonus
  • Familiarity and/or willingness to become OSHA Certified
  • Discretion and integrity in handling confidential information
  • Physical Requirements with the ability to lift up to 30lbs as needed
