Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Cornerstone Mental Healthcare, you will take on a variety of responsibilities aimed at improving the mental health and well-being of young adults aged 18 to 30 through our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Some of your daily tasks will include:

  • Facilitating Group Therapy: Leading engaging group sessions designed to encourage clients to connect, share experiences, and provide mutual support, thus fostering a collaborative atmosphere for healing.
  • Providing Individual Therapy: Offering personalized, empathetic counseling sessions that focus on exploring clients' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, all while developing actionable coping strategies tailored to their unique circumstances.
  • Creating Treatment Plans: Collaborating with clients to establish individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans that reflect their specific needs and aspirations, enhancing their engagement in the recovery process.
  • Monitoring Client Progress: Utilizing assessment tools to track client progress, evaluating the impact of therapeutic interventions, and adjusting treatment strategies as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Collaborating with Multidisciplinary Teams: Engaging with a team of professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to coordinate care and discuss complex cases, ensuring a holistic approach to each client’s mental health journey.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on young adults who are navigating mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional difficulties. By creating a safe and compassionate treatment environment, we empower this demographic to develop resilience, enhance coping skills, and achieve meaningful progress in their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • A valid and unrestricted Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential in the state of Texas.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches applicable to young adults.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that foster relationship-building with clients and team members.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experience will be considered an advantage:

  • Previous work in a mental health or community health setting focused on adolescent or young adult populations.
  • Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and progress tracking.
  • A history of facilitating group therapy sessions with proven outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
