Ochsner Rush Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatrician for our outpatient Family Medical Clinic. Excellent opportunity for a Pediatrician as Ochsner Rush Health is committed to growing its Pediatric program, with a large service area and full support from our 215-bed hospital and medical staff, along with administration.

Highlights of this opportunity:

  • Established outpatient practice -currently 2 pediatricians in the clinic along with a family medicine physician and 3 NPs.

  • Will not cover nursery or C-Sections; Neonatology coverage does that. Level III NICU.

  • Ability to step into an already existing practice with a large referral base throughout East Mississippi and West Alabama.

  • Pediatric Clinic located on Highway 19 North - nearby Ochsner Rush.

Calling Meridian home : A mid-sized town with a population of 45 to 50,000. Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Children's ) represents over 230 physicians. The group is the region's leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, and the region's only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center.

We recently announced the building of a new separate, comprehensive, dedicated Children's Hospital on our main campus, with expected opening in 2027.

We currently care for patients in an expanding 67-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams.

In addition to patient care, Ochsner Children's Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint College of Medicine.
