$15,000 sign-on bonus

Position Highlights:

* May be eligible for $15,000 sign-on bonus with a three-year commitment
* Compensation: Immediately, Avera starts you with great wages, excellent benefits including health, dental, paid time off, and generous retirement.
* Student Loan Repayment: This position may be eligible for Avera's Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster.

Job Summary

* Responsible for the day-to-day operations of laboratory instrumentation or disciplines including supply inventory, quality control, calibration and reagent preparation.
* Accurately perform complex clinical laboratory testing following established procedure.
* Communicate data and pertinent technical information to appropriate departments, healthcare providers and individuals in timely fashion.
* Provide instructions on proper pre-analytical specimen collection, specimen handing, and storage guidelines for various body fluids.

Education and/or Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science and completion of NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program; or a Bachelor's degree in a related science and one to two years of experience/training acceptable to the ASCP or AMT for the Medical Laboratory Scientist required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

* Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required within 12 months of hire.

Work Schedule

* Varied Shifts: 6:30am-3:00pm, 8:30am-5:00pm; 72 hours every 2 weeks

* Every 5 th weekend
* Every 5 th holiday
* Weekday/Weekend call schedule

Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

* $27.50 - $41.50 per hour
