Veterinary Technician - Emergency Nurse Overnight

We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of Veterinary Nurses ( Vet Techs ) with at least two years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine to work in our Emergency Department. Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.

The schedules we are hiring for are: Thursday-saturday 8p-8a
Thursday through Saturday 8pm - 8am (*** ELIGIBLE FOR SIGN-ON BONUS ***)

*For those without two years of emergency experience, but with the education required and a passion to advance their skills, inquire about Metropolitan's Talent Management Program*
Requirements

Your skills & experience and how you'll utilize them to help our patients :

* Experience in emergency veterinary medicine
* Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
* Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
* Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
* Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
* Proficient computer skills
* Triage - identify emergencies and illnesses
* Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis
* Anesthesia: Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, recover patients
* Administer medications
* Assist in procedures
* Position and capture of radiographs
* Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
* Fear Free handling: safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
