ISE I Position Description:
This position is located at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. We are looking for highly motivated and ambitious applicants working in a team environment. Primary job responsibilities include corrective and preventative maintenance of medical imaging devices. These devices include diagnostic Ultrasound, portable X-ray systems, and contrast injectors. We are a multi-vendor, multi-modality account.
Under direct supervision, this person will inspect, repair, maintain, and calibrate basic diagnostic imaging equipment, devices, system, and instruments. Interact on a routine basis with other clinical health providers in the identification of technology-based problems. Participate in on-the-job training programs regarding technical, administrative, and customer service requirements.
The ISE 1/ Clinical Imaging Engineer will possess:
* 1+ years of imaging experience conducting preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair of hospital imaging equipment: radio frequency, X-ray portables, Contrast Injectors. C-Arm, Mammography- Hologic, Rad Fluoroscopy, & Ultrasound experience preferred (not all are required)
* Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
* Ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical imaging devices
* Ability to complete preventative & corrective maintenance on medical devices with limited supervision
* Excellent communication with Radiology and clinical staff, customer service and time management skills
* Ability to participate in on-call rotation schedule as required

Qualifications & Requirements: Basic Education Reuqirement - Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronics, biomedical engineering, or other technical discipline contributing to proficiency of maintenance and repair of imaging equipment within a healthcare environment
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of experience within a healthcare setting with direct responsibility for the maintenance and repair of clinical devices and/or 1 year of imaging equipment repair and maintenance within a healthcare environment and/or entry level of formalized training and/or equivalent military training
