How You Will Make a Difference

As we expand our services in new and existing markets, we're looking for a Volunteer Coordinator who shares our values of being Trustworthy, Capable, Compassionate, Proactive, and most importantly, called to serve. The Volunteer Coordinator has overall responsibility for the Hospice’s Volunteer Program; including for recruiting, training, retaining and supervising volunteers. This role leads with passion, empathy and a philanthropic heart with others who are called to serve.

As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will:

  • Maintain documentation of ongoing efforts to recruit and retain volunteers
  • Provide training and orientation ensuring volunteers are aware of and in agreement with their duties and responsibilities
  • Assesses and maintains documentation of volunteers’ skills and competencies
  • Participate as a member of the IDT, and coordinate with the other members of the IDT to ensure coordination and integration of volunteer services
  • Establish a public relations program to foster good working relations with the volunteers & the community
  • Assists with developing, planning, and executing of events pertaining to the volunteer program

Skills for Success:

  • Ability to lead, encourage, and work with others to reach team goals
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to establish effective relationships with patients’ families, staff, and other physicians
  • Knowledgeable about hospice management and hospice volunteers preferred

Experience to Deliver on our Mission:

  • High School Graduate, Graduate of an accredited college/university is preferred.
