We are the Apple Field Design Engineering Connectivity group, and we specialize in location and fitness technologies using GNSS. We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate engineer to evaluate GNSS on Apple products. This includes validating and proposing changes for innovative technologies developed at Apple with focused experiments and engineering analysis to enhance the end user experience.

You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess great teamwork skills, along with a strong passion for Apple. You must be able to collaborate with team members in a fast-paced dynamic environment while feeling comfortable working alone to complete individual responsibilities.

Description

Come join our team and be involved in GNSS validation of Apple products from early prototype stages to post-release phase You will work closely with cross-functional teams and gain experience in real-time data collection, post-processing, data analytics, project tracking, and presenting to senior management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare test devices for field testing, including physical setup, software installation, and upkeep.
  • Travel to test locations to run field evaluations in stationary and mobility conditions.
  • Post-process diagnostic logs and conduct preliminary debugging during and post field test execution.
  • Generate system performance test reports with key performance indicators.
  • Identify issues impacting HW/System performance and perform deep-dive analysis.
  • Work with team members and third-party vendors spread across various time zones.
  • Improve current processes and maintain documentation.
  • Manage device inventory and equipment logistics used for lab and field testing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Science field.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to conduct manual and automated test procedures in the field.
Key Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of GNSS or Wireless technologies, and experience with testing mobile devices in these areas.
  • Experience with post-processing of diagnostic logs using automation tools.
  • Able to work independently with strong multitasking and time management skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong individual contributor with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Additional Requirements

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $102,440 and $177,900 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
