Cleveland OH United States Cleveland Clinic Full time

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus - Cardiothoracic Surgery J61, J63

Join the Cleveland Clinic team, where you will work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-first healthcare. The J61/J63 nursing units for Cardiothoracic Surgery Step-down are part of Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular and Thoracic institute. Since 1995, Cleveland Clinic has been recognized as one of the top hospitals in the country for Cardiac care.

As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Step-down unit, you will provide care to patients who suffer from valve replacement/repair, aneurysm repair, Maze, radiofrequency ablation, pulmonary vein isolation, pacemaker and defibrillator implant/removal and robotic assisted surgery. An RN in this role is familiar with complex medical histories, innovative surgical procedures, pain modalities, and comprehensive nutritional support.

Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct nursing care.
  • Monitoring, recording and communicating patients’ conditions as appropriate.
  • Preparing patient care plans.
  • Administering prescribed medications.

The ideal future caregiver is someone who:

  • Is a team player
  • Has good communication skills.
  • Can adapt to change.
  • Has an interest in growing leadership skills.
  • Can critically think and problem solve for patients’ best interests.

In this unit, you will learn, grow and develop:

  • Have the opportunity to receive VAD (Vascular) and PCCN certifications as you learn in the field from experienced caregivers.
  • Receive opportunities for growth as a charge nurse.
  • Gain experience to prepare you for a career in ICU or OR.

Caregivers receive support in many ways:

  • No call lights go unanswered, and teammates work together like family.
  • Everyone in the unit is a hands-on worker, including the Assistant Nurse Managers.
  • Unit leaders are always visible and willing to help.

This is an excellent opportunity for already established RNs to discover Cleveland Clinic’s Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute, and gain hands-on experience in this rewarding unit.

At Cleveland Clinic, we know what matters most. That's why we treat our caregivers as if they are our own family, and we are always creating ways to be there for you. Here, you'll find that we offer: resources to learn and grow, a fulfilling career for everyone, and comprehensive benefits that invest in your health, your physical and mental well-being and your future. When you join Cleveland Clinic, you'll be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.

Weekender Flex:
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to have flexibility during their week and provide patient care on the weekends.
