We are The Pump People National Pump Company is a manufacturer of a complete line of vertical line shaft turbine and submersible pumps for the municipal, residential, petroleum, agricultural, and industrial commercial markets. Our commitment to quality and customer service drives our success, and we are looking for a skilled Pump Mechanic to add to our Houston team.


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pump Mechanic who will be responsible for both in-house and field service work. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work independently as well as part of the team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of pumps and pumping systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues in both in-house and field settings.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely service delivery and high-quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of service and repair work.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while on-site with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, ensuring proper use of PPE including foot, hand, eye, and breathing protection. Breathing protection includes half and full face cartridge respirators and supplied air respirators. Chemical protective suits may be required for certain field work operations.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Pump Mechanic or in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of pump systems, components, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client locations as needed.
  • Maintain required certifications such as Houston Area Safety Council, TWIC, and others as
  • specified by customers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
