The Capacity Program Management team is a high impact team that provides leaders critical insights that drive decision-making and execution for Apple's largest business. The team works on critical projects such as defining iPhone sourcing strategy, settling quarterly and launch volumes that form the basis for revenue guidance, influencing key inputs for multi billion dollar budgets and navigating complex operational challenges. On a day to day basis the team plays a meaningful role in defining and leading strategic and operational priorities as well as improvements across the iPhone organization. The ideal candidate will help us to go further into the areas of deep data analytics and operations research in order to drive decision support.

Description

  • Tackle complex business challenges through applied data analytics
  • Craft supply chain models and methodologies by creating software applications to help drive strategic and tactical decisions
  • Collaborate closely with other Operations business partners, research colleagues and IT groups to incorporate tradeoffs within models
  • Take an active role in communicating recommendations to senior management
  • Build close relationships with business partners in a matrix organization
  • International travel required 10-15%

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of professional experience developing and maintaining Operations Research and data analysis software in a production environment in Python, C++, Java, etc.
  • Solid understanding of optimization tools such as: CPLEX, Gurobi or FICO express.
  • Experience conducting data analysis using Python, R, and/or SQL and presenting to a non-technical audience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving critical research and development and developing in-depth analytical understanding of systems.
  • Experience planning supply chain and operational structures in complex and dynamic environments
  • Experience with data acquisition tools, large datasets and data mining
  • Working knowledge of predictive modeling
  • Self-sufficient with an ability to excel in an environment of autonomy amidst ambiguity. Identify areas within operations that would benefit from your analysis and feedback.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills - adept at messaging domain and technical content, at a level appropriate for the audience.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Additional Requirements

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
